The history of Sake

The history of sake is called about 2,000 years. It is said that the sake making from rice started because rice farm was transmitted in around 500~1000 at B.C. Wajin (Japanese) is "Jinseisisake (Sake is liked). " according to "Sankokusi・Touiden・Gisiwazinden" written in the third century. It is understood there are manners to which mourners do "Kabuki drinking", and sake and the religion were deeply related when it hit mourning.  The character "Sake" was originally a word that indicated the fermented alcohol of Japanese original rice, so-called the sake drinking, Paste "Nerisyu" before sake became clear sake as today.
It is written that sake was special sake (god's sake) in various documents. (Kojiki・Harimakunifuudoki etc.)

The clear sake was used only at special festive occasions.
The sake making started originally as work of the shrine maiden to dedicate it to the god.
The exchange with the pantheon was attempted by a mysterious action of the medicine sake, and getting drunk.
Sake is offered before the harvested rice is dedicated, and it prays for the good harvest at the next season.
When October came, sake was brewed in Grand Shrine of Izumo in which gods all over Japan gathered to show .

appreciation for pains of the pantheon of eight million and it behaved.
It moved to the sake that people drank from the nectar dedicated to the pantheon by priests when being become the Heian era before long.
